Sandwich Art

Any Sandwich Artist worth their smoked gourmet salt knows that the precise layering of ingredients is as essential to a sandwich as the ingredients themselves. As I continue my Quest for Greatness in Tuna Salads purchased at large or created in the privacy of my home, I pause for the 1st tuna sam of the new year. Lately I've been satisfied by mayo, salt and pepper, but today I felt the calling for the addition of slivers of bread & butter pickle chips next to the bread, and shreds of carrot in between the tuna and the lettuce.
A hidden key "ingredient" is temperature. I keep my tuna cans in the fridge, but "cold" is not always the best temp for either texture or flavor. Somewhere between "chilled" and "room" is a fickle, yet savory spot that I consider when TunaQuesting.
